Calendula Oil

  • 5 cups of Castor Oil (or Olive Oil)
  • 1 1/2 oz Calendula flowers (the more added the more potent the mixture)

Directions: Add flowers to oil, place into a sealed jar (like the ones used to for homemade jam; preferably you will want brown colored jars to prevent light from spoiling the contents). Place jar in a cool and dark cabinet. Let item sit for at least six months (the longer the item seeps, the stronger the potency). Filter out the flowers and use the oil as desired.

Used for: Calendula oil is excellent for homemade cosmetic recipes. It has strong healing properties. So be weary, if oil is used on deep wounds, Calendula may cause the upper skin layer to heal faster than the lower layers.
